The Back Seat

I had my first public breast feeding experience today. We ventured out today and took the boys to Sears to have their pictures taken. Joshua did great, but eventually as we neared the 2.5 hours mark, he got hungry. We were done at Sears and were just leaving The Children's Place when he started squaking from the stroller. I picked him up and he fell asleep until we returned to the truck.

I had brought my Boppy pillow just in case this would happen and it came in handy. Mr. Big got Jake situated and I nursed in the back seat. Josh is not a quick nurser and takes awhile. We sat and people watched outside the mall. It was v. interesting to actually have a reason to stop and watch the world around us for once. We chatted and Jake asked "What's that Daddy?" about one hundred times. This was my first public back seat nursing session and it went quite well.

As we drove home, I sat in the back seat with my two boys. I couldn't help but ponder how different life is now with two kids. I'm not even thirty years old yet and I have two kids. I'm mature, most of the time. I'm a wife and a mother. I'm breastfeeding my son from the back seat. I'm answering questions for my two year old that he soaks up like a sponge. Life is amazing from the back seat!

What did you do from your back seat today??
