Firsts

I love experiencing the firsts with my boys. I remember all the firsts with Jacob and now I'm going through all the same firsts with Joshua. It is amazing to watch each of my boys grow and experience the differences in each of them. Right now we are about to hit all the first holidays with Joshua. He's got the bibs and the outfits. "My First Halloween", "Baby's First Boo", you know the ones.

I just love watching Josh find his hands and chew on them. He's about to experience cereal and baby food. He's talking more and just interacting. I can't wait to see him roll over for the first time.

Jacob, well, he's talking and each day is a new word. He sings the alphabet song all the way through. So cute to hear him say each letter. He can count to 20 with ease. He said "Coming!" the other day after I called his name. I smiled from ear to ear because it was the first time he's said that. So, I called him all day long just to hear it. He eventually added in Coming, Mommy! or Coming, Daddy! He is delicious! I just don't know how else to describe him. I love his age and enjoy talking to him. Our conversations are priceless and I find myself running for the video camera to capture the cuteness.

What firsts do you remember with your kids? Anything special that sticks in your mind? I think the most special firsts for each of my babies was holding them in my arms and looking into their eyes. I could tell at that instance who they were and how much each of them meant to me in their own different way. Since then, all the firsts have captured my heart and split me in two. I'm not just Aimee the individual anymore, I'm Aimee the Mom. Ain't life grand? Why yes it is, thanks for asking!
