Dashing through the snow

Okay, okay, I realize there is NO snow in the Houston or surrounding area, but a girl can dream. Hell, I had the A/C on yesterday because the damn house got up to 74 yesterday. Blech!

Christmas will be here next weekend, people! Do you realize that? I have like none of my Christmas shopping done. I have to pound the pavement this week and try to get some of it knocked out. I'm just not dragging my two kids all over God's creation to fight the crowds. Nope, not doing it. Why torture myself and everyone else in the stores?

I do have about a third of it done. Don't go thinking I haven't done ANY shopping. Jacob is finished. Josh, well it's a not too many presents for Josh type Christmas. I mean, come on-he has no clue! He has a few things to open, but the kid does not lack for anything.

Jacob is really getting into the Christmas spirit. He enjoys all the cards with pictures we are getting in the mail. I love telling him the stories of all the people. I especially love the stories of the women and their miracle babies that I've met online. It is so neat to see these women that have fought infertility, like we did, and have one, or even two kids to show off in their cards. Jacob or Joshua have no clue what a miracle they are, but one day they will.

We broke down and bought an artifical tree this year. It is really nice. I give the fake tree manufactor's props for making trees look so real these days. It had hinged branches. You just hit the darn thing on the ground and whalla the branches came down. We did have to pull all the prickly stems out and apart, but that was fun. Jacob really enjoyed putting all the adornments on the tree. We gave him the history of each individual ornaments and he just listened. He put all the character ornaments on with glee. He loved the Santas, Toy soliders, Nutcrackers, Elves, and Disney characters the most. It was neat to see him so involved.

We had Christmas carols playing in the background to set the mood. He loves music and was dancing around the room. I picked him up and we danced to Harry Connick, Jr. He loved twirling in his Momma's arms and spinning. His little head would tilt back and he'd get a huge grin on his face and he'd yell "Spin again, Mommy! Spin again!". I seriously had to contain myself about a million times from crying. I get emotional sometimes when I get caught up in a moment. I treasure these boys and times like those are just whip cream on my ice cream sundae.

All the while, Josh was tootling around in his walker just grinning at the walls. He is delicously innocent and angelic right now. I love this age! He is rolling over and getting stronger every day. He didn't know what was going on last night, but he was there. Just him being there, to me, is a miracle and a blessing. We reached rock bottom as far as having kids went and now we have two. We even have the hope of having another one. Amazing! It seems even more amazing when the holidays roll around and you are just grateful for the wart on your big toe. Ya know?

So, we have lots going on. I have a lot to get done over the next week. I love this time of year. I mark it my favorite, actually. I enjoy the good cheer and merriment. Life just seems priceless!

On a side note: January 23rd-Kravitz/Aerosmith concert with my Rocker Mom. She is in the Aeroforce One Fan club and got front row, VIP seats. Holy Cow! I'm so freaking excited!!! I went a couple years back and practically sat in their laps we were so close. They are old-BUT they can ROCK! Love 'em! Can't wait to see 'em!
