Humpty Dance

Happy Hump Day! Wednesdays always seem to make me giddy. You are half way through the week and the weekend is fast approaching. That means double parenting and lots of time to myself as Mr. Big can help wrangle the kiddos. Yay!

My parents came over yesterday and we had a fun filled day. I can always count on my Mom to get me off my butt and out around town. We always go out to lunch and explore the restaraunts in our area. We then make our weekly trip to Walmart where Jacob gets a "treat". I see it as more junk, but we won't go there right now. It is just a nice retreat from our daily routine. We all enjoy visiting with them!

Today I'm packing some boxes. You should see our house. Lord, we have some packing to do. I can't even tell you how big of a pack rat Mr. Big is. He will not throw anything out. I don't know how we have stored this much crap. It is nice that he's at work during the day because I can go through things and throw things out or donate things, etc. I'm sure I'll have a few things to list on Ebay as well. Extra spending money is always nice. So, we've got our work cut out for us.

The house situation is this, offer on our house-finalized contract to be delivered by end of this week. We have till February 24 to close. That is precisely one day before my 30th birthday. I'll be moving this year. Not how I imagined bringing in my thirtieth, but OH WELL! Woe is me.

We're countering on the counter from the seller on the other house sometime this week. We are securing the financing today and will recounter with financing in place and other things we want presented in the contract. We hope that we can close the gap. I won't go into details but the seller is not bending and the house has been on the market for over 60 days. I think we have now figured out why the house has been on the market for so long. We'll see. We might go round and round before we get to where we hope to be. Thank God for Mr. Big. I am not a negotiator!

Otherwise, I'm packing, taking care of the boys and hanging out at home. I'm not sure my life is too glamorous at the moment. I spend my days in sweats and a tee shirt with my hair up in a pony tail. Life flies by each day and I feel like the months have galloped past me. It's amazing how time flies when you are having fun!

Oh! My opinion on the nursing by the pool at the Y story. I couldn't have said it better than Laura did. I hope you don't mind, Laura, but I'm cut and pasting what you said and I double DITTO it! Well put and I totally 100% agree with you!

"Here's my feeling on it. I am a fairly modest person, and when I needed to nurse M in public I did make sure I was as discrete as I could possibly be. I used a pumped bottle if I was able and found the most private spot I could (mostly because I was with an unpredictable toddler), but sometimes you just have take care of your child's needs, right then. If you're at the pool and your kids are playing and your baby needs to nurse, what options do you have? Pull your screaming children out of the pool and make them shiver (and scream some more) in the locker room while you nurse? Let your kids run all over without supervising them while you go in to nurse the baby (Um, THAT would distract me as a lifeguard, too)?

As for the no food/drink rule, I highly doubt anyone would have had a problem with that mother pulling out a bottle on theh pool deck to feed her baby.

I guess it's hard without knowing the whole story, but up front it looks like a bunch of hooey to me. I tink that, whenever a person is nursing, discretion is wise. If you are baring your entire chest in public and sitting there wiht your suit pulled down and nothing to cover you, well that's a problem. If you have the baby on a breast, though, and you're not flashing nipple all over the place, or if you are using a towel to be more discrete, I don't see what's wrong with that. I guess I would have a problem with someone nursing a child IN the pool, simply for the safety of hte child with the way he would be held and the risk of other children bumping into him and the potential of something happening because of it, but I seriously doubt that was the case."

Have a Great Wednesday! I'm out.
