Budgeter in Training

To be able to stay at home with my kids is amazing. I wouldn't trade it for the world. The only downside to staying home is the one income part of it all. Going from two incomes to one for us wasn't a huge deal since Mr. Big made 5 times what I did as an executive assistant (slave to the bossman). My income was more a supplement to Mr. Big's income. However, it was something to add on and it helped. It helped more with fun frivolous things. Now, no fun frivolous things allowed.

We are working on a budget and plan to get our finances in order. I was never one to really spend a whole lot. I'm a bargain shopper. I usually will buy my clothes from the clearance racks. The boys clothes are always bought a season ahead off the clearance racks. I also use coupons on everything, or mostly everything. We buy in bulk in moderation when the deal is good. I also enjoy buying at garage sales, Salvation Army and Resale stores. So-I have it in me to be thrifty and cheap. This whole budget thing is making me dig down deep into an even cheaper part of me. I hate spending money now. I can't buy something without gritting my teeth and my butt puckering up. What is wrong with me?
