Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood had the Annual Easter Egg hunt hosted by our H.O.A. this morning at the buttcrack of dawn. I looked like total and utter hell, but my boys looked spiffy. Ya see these days I concentrate more on their wardrobe and appearance than I do my own. I swear that Stacy and Clinton are going to show up on my doorstep at any moment. If I were my family and friends I would report me. That is a whole n'other story in itself. Back to hunting Easter eggs.

Three days leading up to today I have been filling my two year old's head with the thoughts of colored candy filled easter eggs. I've told him how the Easter bunny comes and hides the eggs and we go find them. Of course, Jacob must be a good boy these days leading up to the hunt and use all his best manners (as if). He seemed to get it, or so I thought. Atleast he would recite the story to anyone that would listen. AS I'd stare on and nod back with his story giving the innocent listener the evil eye like tell him otherwise and die. Let's just say that when it came down to the hunt Jacob didn't really know what to do.

Until-I stepped in. I held my little man's hand and we stomped through the clover to find those colored easter eggs. We stomped and we picked up and we stomped some more and we devoured that 10x10 roped off square of clover. Jacob would grab and I'd point. He quickly discovered the world of Easter eggs and how to retrieve them from their hiding spots. He was good. I saw flashbacks of a young me as we tromped through the clover together.

Meanwhile back at the stroller, Mr. Big was taking pictures of us hunting eggs in the clover. He was also tending to our youngest and taking adorable pictures of him. The weather was gorgeous. A sunny 73 degrees.

So, all in all the hunt was a success. I love spring. I really do. Life just seems so refreshing on a sunny, breezy day. And, both my kids are cute. Just threw that in to see if you were listening. Tee hee.

You are so funny! Love the "What Not to Wear" reference. I feel the same way as you. Kids? Decked out to the nines. Me? Looking like I just got decked! Sounds like Jacob thoroughly enjoyed his first egg hunt (and his Mommy did too). Next year he'll be the first one out to hunt those eggs!
