Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!

Jacob ran into the office and declared "Mommy-I want to teetee on the potty right now.". I quickly obliged his request and went with him to the potty. He sat and sat and sat and I heard nothing. We talked. I turned the water on. We talked some more. I was about to lie down on the floor and count the carpet fibers when he asked me if he could wear his Buzz Lightyear underwear. I got up and went to his bedroom to get the Buzz Lighyear Pullups (aka as underwear in our house). I was giddy as I skipped back to his potty where he still sat. He got up and put his "undies" on. Stood there and pointed to Buzz and smiled. I smiled back.

Now let's see how long it takes him to soil Buzz and his space friends. I'm betting 5 minutes. The Pullups are temporary. We'll venture into real underwear soon enough. The washing machine has already been forewarned.

Potty training at it's best I tell you. I'm not enjoying this part of parenthood at the moment. What a roller coaster!

It's like walking through the jungle without a map the first time around. I hope it gets easier. If you need any tricks, I'll tell you what worked for MJ.

Oh, and Ms. Z took a dump in the tub tonight. UGH!

Oh man! I HATED toilet training. We have 7 kids and just finished potty training the last one a year ago. I am soooo glad those days are behind me. Good luck and may the force be with you!!!

Ugh!! Pottytraining....I feel like my 4 year old JUST got done. It took forever! Hoping the two year old will be the easy one. She went pee on the potty the other night, so I gave her a piece of candy. The four year old wanted one too, saying, "I went pee on the potty, too!" I said, "That is very good Rachel, but 4 year olds don't get a treat when they go!" Good luck to you....we can share stories!
