We spent our Monday at the Houston Zoo. I love animals and hate to see them caged. I really do. I just can't say no to a learning toddler when he requests a visit to the giraffes. So, we invited the grandparents and headed to the zoo for a morning adventure. The Mearkats and Giraffes were Jacob's favorite. He enjoyed the baby giraffe that was born in March and oh'so cute. We saw some monkies mating. That was pretty funny. They had tons of field trips and students and listening/watching the reaction of the high school class behind us as we walked through the exhibit was enough to make my day. Beavis and Butthead times 20. "Uh, Huh, Yea, Dude-They're mating. Ha ha! That's cool." Like I said, funny! Jacob, of course, had to ask what they were doing. My answer? Playing. Yea, I'm going to suck at the birds and the bees. I'm leaving that conversation for Mr. Big. A son should be taught about that by his father. Right? There could be no mother on earth that would want to even consider their son doing the horizontal dance with anyone. No. Lalalalalalalalala. I can't hear myself. Anyway-back to the zoo...
The animals were hot. They weren't moving a whole lot. We had a nice time. Went to a nice lunch at Olive Garden afterwards and just enjoyed a nice day outdoors in the sun. What else could I ask for? Not alot.
Today (Tuesday) I worked out at the Y. Not so exciting. My legs and my arms are killing me. Today marked the start of my daily exercise regimen. I'm hoping to drop some weight here in the next few months. I'll let you know how it goes.
