Just another manic Monday...

Mondays are always my catch up day from the weekend. My Mom comes over some Mondays to hang out with us, but for the most part I try to clean and do laundry. This week my getting geared up for a baby shower I'm hosting on Saturday for a girlfriend. Let's just say that its going to take this whole week to get it into the kind of shape I want for it to be in for the shower. Josh has been here four months now and I just haven't had the motivation to clean like my normal self. I miss those maids, damnit! So, I've got my white glove out and I'm going over this house with my toothbrush and bottle of clorox. I'm sort of giddy about it bacause I have motivation and a goal to work towards.

We are also preparing to list our house on the market. We are interviewing realtors, battling thoughts of "for sale by owner" and decluttering. It is just a whirlwind of good times here at my house!

We don't have a house in mind yet and we have discussed the possibility of leasing for awhile until we find something we LOVE. We just can't make up or minds on location/neighborhood/size/price range/ etc. and we would really like to sell our home before we put a contract on another one. We skated so close to our contingency last time that we fear the worst this time. Watch our house sell the first week we list it. Egads! I doubt it because this is not prime selling time. Usually spring is the best time to sell, we're listing early. We shall see what happens. We've got a lot of decluttering and preparing to do before we list. We talk big, but we're no where close to listing just yet. Work, work, work... here we come.

We are going through the FPU with Dave Ramsey right now and I tell you that this course has put us into a whole new way of thinking as far as finances go. We are totally committed to becoming debt free. The house is our first step. The credit cards next. Then we work on our ultimate plan. Mr. Big and I are so excited to think that in a couple years we could be debt free except a mortgage. How nice would that be? Nice I tell you! If you are there already (no debt) KUDOS to you! Keep it that way!

I will leave you for now. Wish me luck! I've got a lot of work to get done here.

Hey instamom,

We're learning alot from Ramsey. His website is www.daveramsey.com. You can read about his course on his website. He also has a radio show that you can listen to via the net or on the radio. He is very good and I would highly recommend atleast listening to him. He's hard on you, but that's what we need. We're spenders and we need some discipline. He definately made us think and now were striving to things differently. We weren't in dire straits financially like some people are, but we definately needed a makeover. I'm so excited about our financial future now. We can make a difference now and then we we're older we'll be comfortable. Anyway-you can email me if you want at aimeelfuller@hotmail.com. Just make sure to put in your subject line your name and something catchy otherwise I might mistake it for junkmail. My inbox gets bombarded even with a filter. Thanks!
