Road Rash

Tonight I decided to take the boys for a stroll around the pond. Mr. Big was watching college bowl games and I was sick of listening to it from the kitchen. I had escaped earlier today to Walmart and decided that some walking/exercise would do me some good. Even though I did not make a New Year's resolution to lose weight, I could stand to.

Off we went. Jacob on his bike (with training wheels) and me with Josh in stroller. As we walked we ran into neighbors and gabbed. Jacob would patiently wait on his bike while I chatted. Josh was taking in the sights with no worries in the world. Life just seems so surreal right now. I mean, I'm a Mom to two boys!

Jacob is growing so fast. He's talking non-stop. He's obedient and well behaved. He enjoys the same things we do, which is fun. He learns something new everyday and he teaches us something new everyday. He truly is a smart kid. I'm not just saying that because he's mine, I truly think he's smart. Smarter than me, which isn't saying much. Ha ha! Honestly, he's a good kid. I enjoy him and love spending time with him every day! I am glad we're so bonded and close.

Joshua is amazing. He can roll front to back, back to front now. He'll be six months old on January 5th. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I do not know where the time goes. He has a great disposition. He laughs at us constantly. He "talks" more and more each day. He loves to walk around the house in his walker. He can cruise in that thing. He watches Jacob constantly (Lord help me!). He is a great eater. He loves to nurse and enjoys his cereal. I've tried some veggies and fruits with him and he enjoys those, but not as much as nursing. I'm not rushing it. Just enjoying his babyhood and letting him go at his own pace.

As we rounded the bend to come home I thought about how amazing life with two is. Mr. Big joined us in the front yard and we gather with the neighbors and just watched all the kids play. There were electronic toys from Christmas running wild in the streets. Jacob in his Ford F-150, K in her new Barbie Jeep and K on his new four wheeler. Funny to watch. Fun to make fun of. Until...

Jacob dare devils off his bicycle. Head first into the concrete. Scrapes his elbow and knee and bonks his head. Three words: Purple Goose Egg! Yikes!

Still... Life with two, no matter how unpredictable is truly amazing!
