Tuesday: Cleaning Day

I clean the house from top to bottom every Tuesday. It is my "slow" day and I use it to clean. The house gets vacuumed, swept, mopped, clothes washed/folded, toilets, bathrooms, sinks scrubbed. You get the drift. I just use this day to make the house smell fresh, look crisp and clean. It helps with my obsessive compulsive cleaning disorder. If I make Tuesday my day to clean then the days that I feel overwhelmed I can say "No, Aimee, cleaning day is Tuesday". It works about 80/20. Sometimes I still clean, but with two kids I had to come to a compromise in my mind. It is tough keeping the clean standards I had pre-kids. I physically can not have the house as clean as I did before kids. There is no way to care for the kids and maintain a white glove house. So, there you have it. My plan to keep my house immaculate (in our book) and happy.

What do you do to keep your humble abode in order and happy? Share with me!

Have you seen www.motivatedmoms.com? I bit the bullet and got one about a month ago and it has helped me a lot. I am a neat freak so I try to get one big clean on the weekend and use this calendar to fill in throughout the week.
