Things like this could only happen to me...

An innocent romp in the park resulted in a

six inch splinter in my ass...
*This was what was removed internally...under the $5 bill
After a trip to the ER and the doctor cutting into my buttock muscle to remove the splinter, I am good as new. My butt was sore the next day, but even with two stitches and a pretty nasty bruise on my leg I'm doing fine.
How did this happen? I was enjoying the nice weather with my kids and my Mom at the park. We were taking pictures and playing with the kids. I was sitting on a park bench taking pictures of Sarah, who was sweetly smiling at Jacob, in her stroller. I scooted back on the bench to get a better shot and I felt something enter my butt cheek (right at where your butt cheeks meets your leg). I stood up instantly and showed my Mom (who never freaks out!) and she insisted we go home. So, I wobbled to the van and we buckled the kids up and went home. I knew it was bad as I walked because the throbbing started and it felt really bad. Upon further inspection at the house we decided that it was pretty serious. I called Mr. Big who declared he'd just ice the area and get it out himself when he got home. I mean, how innocent does the situation sound? I have a splinter in my butt, honey, come home. It DOES sound really small when you say it out loud. Innocent that splinter was not! So, I laid in bed for a hour waiting on Mr. Big to get home, tugging at the splinter occasionally and writhing from the log in my ass. Mr. Big looked at it as soon as he got home and he said "Let's go to the ER". So, off we went and it's all a blur from there. We did find some humor in the situation and I wasn't the "butt of too many jokes".
Things this random and bizarre only happen to me!
And, all of that for this one great shot!

This was the last picture on my camera when I checked the next morning...

I know that must have hurt...Glad you got it out in the ER...I guess you want scoot back anymore on a picnic bench. It was a funny read but I know it was not funny at the time. Thanks for sharing...I needed that! :)
